Our grasshopper classroom is excited to be an official Verona 4K program site as well as a place that provides regular and wrap around care.

Our goal is to strive to balance work and play since both are important to a child's learning experience. Work times will include calendar, alphabet and thematic activities. We will read stories, sing songs, do math, science, fine motor movement, language and art projects to engage children of all learning styles.

We utilize Handwriting Without Tears as part of our alphabet work. Other skills we will be working on are social, self-help, problem soliving and emotional development.

Meet the Teachers!

Ms. Nicki

Lead Teacher

Hello, I'm Nicki Poh. I have been working with kids since I started teaching four year old Sunday School as a Freshman in high school.

While earning my degree in Elementary Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I was on the 4-c's sub list, helping out at many area daycare centers with all ages of children. After graduation, I spent a year as a teacher's aid in kindergarten classes. that experience helped me realize my preference for helping young children develop and grow, ready for their elementary school experience.

I have been happily working in the preschool room in the last three centers I've worked in, including being the first teacher ever hired at Little Pilgrims in 2007!

I live in Monona with my husband. My baby girl is Monona Grove class of 2015! She was my student when she was two and four years old, in 4th grade Sunday School and through two and a half years of Confirmation. She turned out great, so can trust me with your child.

Hi, my name is Alisa Fueger. I have been working with children and families at Little Pilgrims since May of 2013 as an assistant float teacher.  Right now I am the assitant toour 4K teacher Ms. Nicki.

In addition to two and a half years of college courses with an emphasis on psychology and human behavior, I am a certified as an assistant teacher. Furthermore, I will have a certification as a lead teacher in October 2014.

In my time at college I explored many interests that ranged from Animal Behavior and Psychology to French and Botany. It was during this exploration that I discovered my passion for childcare. Children are our connection to the future and it sure is a bright one!
